I always had a certain amount of respect for teams like Fuenlabrada, meaning teams that without constant great budget and big names, they are using a good base of players and add critical additions every year to finally finding a chemistry - that alongside with the strong support at home and disciplined team management - they utilize in the end avoiding problems and at some time offering some good basketball in the court.
The above factors have worked for today's visitors for some time and seemingly they still are this year since they stand at a good 4-4 position after the first 8 games. Quite fruitful outcome if you ask me, especially considering the important missing of their top scorer SF Fitch and lately of useful (PF/C) Berzins. Mid week they gave a strong fight against in-form Barcelona, but class made the difference in the end; it was clear though that Fuenlabrada is not a team to relax on absences or strong opposition and let the game slip without trying. All these are well demonstrated, but what is also demonstrated is their lack of power when playing away from home.
This lack is what makes me lean to the home side today; Caja Laboral stands on the other front with one of the toughest home courts traditionally in the league, coming from a disaster at Barcelona and a struggling win at home over Valladolid (72-65).Certainly not signs of form for Laboral, but it is at that point that Ivanovic asks for a strong convincing performance to boost up his team (Euroleague is re-starting mid-week afterall) and i think its time for Laboral to produce one of those. Against weakened and somewhat fatigued out Fuenlabrada (they really fought against Barca without any depth in the bench) i can see this opportunity coming and at the same time Laboral is not really aiming to get something out of this one. Walter Herrmann (SF) is still a problem for the hosts, nothing new apparently i am also informed that Huertas (G) will not be fit for this one despite initial estimation were pointing out for mid-November to be able to contribute.
Bookies seem to think the same way here, we don't have a punting that spread is set wrongly but still the 12.5 found in most is totally justified and maybe a little lower. However, Nordicbet is offering a much smaller handi (at 10,5) and that is the main reason i am taking this bet (at 12-13 maybe i would stay neutral but again leaning for the home side) with some medium units since Laboral is far from convincing those days. GL!
P.S The bookie is Nordicbet.
