Lyon-Villeurbanne v Pau-Lacq-Orthez

Each season, this “classic” is always a nice basket-ball time in all sense of it. It was always tough to predict who will win and whatever they play home or away.

Since last season, Pau is not the team it used to be in the past. This year, the club has made some big changes, well, basically everything has changed. New president, new coach, and they decided to let the young ones play. Pau always managed to raise talents and some of them are in NBA now. But starting for now, those young players (21 years average team) seem to not be at the level and certainly not again one of the biggest team Lyon. On top of that, their two “old” players are injured. Moncade (captain) can’t even go to Lyon to support his team and Fuller will know only tomorrow if his hancle will let him play or not. These 2 players are supposed to control the young ones and I’m afraid without them they won’t be able to assume the pressure. Their only hope should be Jameson Curry, but according what he has shown in the previous game, it won’t be enough to give competition.

Lyon-Villeurbanne on his side has done a very good game against the French champion Nancy last week, and was very close to win at Nancy (Nancy hasn’t lose since 3 seasons at home).

Lyon plays already with quality and I’m afraid for Pau that they will take more than 15points there.

No need to take a huge spread here since it’s the beginning of the season, players can be clumsy on shooting so I’m taking a reasonable -8.5 points with high stakes.
