After what I saw last week when Pau snatched a 1pt win @Villeurbanne in the French classico, I have no choice but to back this great offer we are having here.
Pau was really great in this one and has accomplished one of the greatest team performances of the season in a game where everything was clicking for them: Stanic with 14 assists, Graves 40pts, Robinson 6/7 3pters.
Both team have 4/3 balance since the Christmas break. It is clear to me that Nancy is in its traditional February crisis, after loosing at the first round of the semaine des as, getting crushed in Strasbourg and loosing at home against Dijon. The team is going through several troubles as PG Dowdell is not producing atm, Bauer is out with ankle injury; Parker is playing with the flu, Ricardo Greer and Cyril Julian will be playing with slight injuries. Nancy only had 4 valid players to train the all week so arguably I don’t think they are enough prepared to face Pau.
Key of the game for the host will be their 3pt shooting %. In the 7 games they shoot:
In wins : 48% @Villeurbanne; 50% vs Orleans; 46% @Gravelines; 63% vs Dijon
In loss: 27% vs Le Mans; 15% @Le Havre; 23% @Toulon
In my opinion Nancy will have much trouble to defend all the shooters, especially if Stanic keeps on finding the open men so easily.
Given all those aspects, this game is nothing more than a 50/50 situation where I expect “in form” hosts to prevail at those odds.
