The second-place Silver Stars look for their third consecutive victory when they visit the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday.
San Antonio (19-11) beat Houston 63-60 on Saturday to finish 3-3 on its homestand. The Silver Stars, though, would seem to have an advantage down the stretch as they play three of their final four games on the road, where they are a conference-best 10-4 and have won two straight and six of seven.
San Antonio can easily reach the top spot in western! Phoenix and Sacramento had to face each other twice, remember that Phoenix has 21-11 record.
To achieve that San Antonio has to win tonight! And a game with Los Angels is a sweet candy for them.
Los Angeles (10-21), meanwhile, is just 5-10 at home and will miss the postseason for the first time since 1998.
The Sparks' poor play at home has been one of the biggest reasons for their struggles. Los Angeles will be trying to win consecutive games at Staples Center for the first time since June 8 and June 13.
They are 2-8 Last 10 games, and there’s no motivation for them. At home 1-8 Last 9 games. In Sunday they win worst team in WNBA (Minnesota) so I don’t count as a relative indicator.
Temeka Johnson didn’t play lately and Taj McWilliams-Franklin in in doubt with personal issues.
Without these 2 players, I can’t see LA to battle tonight.
San Antonio is 2-0 against Los Angeles in 2007 and will go for the season sweep Tuesday. Last game they cruised past LA 86-67 even without superstar Becky Hammond.
They are 9-5 on road this season and reseve Shana Crosley is on fire!
While Hammon leads the team with 19.2 points per game, Crossley is averaging 19.6 in five games this month - well above her 9.2 season average. She had a season-high 26 points in an 86-67 home win over the Sparks on Aug. 4, as San Antonio clinched the franchise's first playoff berth since moving from Utah in 2003
With Hammond and Crosley playing well San Antonio won’t give any chance tonight
